Information for Teachers, Counselors, and School Officials
If you are accompanying a group of students to and through the Bridges program, we want you to feel just as welcome and at home at KU as your students. Building Bridges staff will work with you on understanding the general expectations for chaperones while also providing opportunities for you to make the most of your own time on campus.
Chaperone Expectations
As a chaperone, you will help supervise students and ensure they are fully engaged in program activities. Specifics will be discussed as a group well before the program start date and communication will remain open through the program.
Professional Development Opportunities
Before arrival, Building Bridges staff will discuss potential professional development opportunities. Example opportunities may be networking sessions with peers at KU, specialized sessions by industry experts, KU department visits, or even informal discussions with KU counterparts.
